Alaska Renewable Energy And Sustainable Opportunities Network is a web portal and information resource for renewable energy and sustainable development in Alaska. Launched on May 1st 2008, AKREASON seeks to identify and bring together communities, private industry, governmental agencies, and non-profits across Alaska that are interested in realizing a shared vision of Alaska as being an internationally recognized leader of renewable energy and sustainable development.

Historically Alaska's economy has largely revolved around extraction of non-renewable resources, but Alaska has an abundance of renewable resource industries waiting to be tapped! We at AKREASON believe that the state of Alaska needs to focus its efforts on investing in our ability to extract our renewable resources and preserve our non-renewable assets.

By preserving our non-renewable and hydrocarbon resources they actually increase in value in a world of diminishing supply and exponentially growing demand. This is economic model of the future - and we can either be followers or leaders.

Getting involved is easy. Educate yourself on the issues. Sign up for a mailing list. Talk to your friends. Send this web page to someone who you think may be interested. Write your government representatives. Each of us can contribute a piece of the puzzle by taking small efforts over time!
